Loving too Deeply

“Most people were heartless about turtles because a turtle’s heart will beat for hours after it has been cut up and butchered. But the old man thought, I have such a heart too.”

  1. The Old Man and The Sea! Nice quote.I do not think I thought of it as pertaining to love; so once again you have made me think. I always thought it was about never giving up, being dedicated, loyal, persistent.

Now that I think of it, all those things do pertain to love.

    • Exactly Dad! I do not mean it as goo goo gah gah love but rather everything the love and passion you have for life. All the things you listed are things that came to mind when I read this quote as well. However, to me love was the most profound emotion because the reference to the heart. You never stop loving the things in your life you truly loved, even after someone has chopped you up!!

  2. Coco, you are the stronger person! You learned from the experience. Even though it was hurtful, you learned.

Your heart is still beating – stronger than ever! Keep on keeping on! There will always be obstacles to overcome and difficult people/situations to deal with. How you deal with it determines your character and the type of person you truly are. If someone or something chops you up, you need to stop, collect the pieces and put it all back together. Many times the repairs prove to be better and stronger than the original.
